🦧 Is The Noctua Nh D15 Worth It
Worth upgrading from NH U12A to NH D15S ? Hello, Now I have the NH U12A with my R5 5600X, getting around 30 idle and 68 when playing Warzone in 2K. I miss the fact there is no chromax black version of it. So I thought getting the D15S chromax, since the regular D15 can't fit in my case (MSI Magforce 100M). I have 4 sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws 5.
CommanderAlex. The 10980XE is a higher-power-consuming CPU, but that doesn't necessarily mean higher idle temps - Ryzen has certain aggressive transient boost behavior that makes it tend to run warmer at idle. While true, Ryzen tends to pump more voltages into these chips for no reason under light/idle loads.
It is almost dead quiet during idle with proper fans curves and not audible over game sounds while gaming. For reference I am sitting around 65c while gaming with 60% fan speed. I tried overclocking my CPU but it was just not worth it in the end. Out of the box performance is pretty close to an OC performance but with much less heat so I just
If you're wondering why I don't just buy the NH-D15, it's because of RAM clearance issues. Now, with that out of the way, Noctua has an array of 120mm fans available on their product page; however, I am not sure which one is the best choice to attach to the NH-D15s, or if they are even all compatible with it. Based on the statistics that are
The d15 is not a Fan. Its a dual tower heatsink. People using Fan for heatsink drive me up the wall. The d15 is overkill for a 5600x if budget is tight. Otherwise, nope that's fine. Looking at the GPU he is going to buy (AMD RX 6800 XT) + the memory kit he got + the SSD he picked, he clearly isn't on a tight budget.
Recently i purchased Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler. Works fine, but because of RAM height and computer case height i'm unable to close side cover due to second fan sticking out too much. So i was thinking to buy another Noctua cooler (120x120x25) , possibly NF-F12 PWM, and put the 140mm fan that came with the cooler as front intake on pc chassis.
Hey i bought The noctua cooler it barrely fits in my current case and i couldnt even use the back fan for the Noctua because of the ram.. i need to put it a little higher but then i cant close my side panel..
The Noctua NH-D15 is basically the best air cooler on the market. It is incredibly reliable and powerful. The Corsair H150is have some issues but I use one on an OCed 10900k (and a Corsair H115i on a 10900kf) and they are solid. If you don't want the RGB goodies, the NH-D15 is probably a better option for gaming use.
Ryzen 5 5600X with PBO enabled. Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 (fans at 1,000 ~ 1,200 RPM) Fractal Design Define C. 3x120mm fans intake (Cougar Vortex HDB PWM at 900 ~ 1000 RPM) 1x120mm fan exhaust (Cougar Vortex HDB PWM at 900 ~ 1000 RPM) I don't have any noise measuring equipment so cannot give any decibel numbers, but the PC is very quiet when idle
The Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black is a dual-tower CPU cooler that provides efficient and quiet cooling performance. With its extra-wide design, dual fans, and 6 heatpipes, it is suitable for overclockers and silent-enthusiasts. The cooler comes in an all-black design that complements various color schemes and RGB LEDs.
It’s worth trying this for ourselves, since we don’t really trust random internet user data. Noctua NH-D15 on 3950X. Just in case, we tested the full 3950X chip with this same set of
The 2nd Gen Noctua NH-D15 cooler will feature the new 140mm A-series fans and adopt a tailored fin stack design with reduced fin pitch (1.6mm instead of 1.9mm), offer 20% more surface area, and
